Misfits Audio, 2013

Another episode in the series making fun of the American Presidency, starring Joe Stofko as the inept premier, bearing a passing relationship to George W. Bush; Peter Katt as his hapless sidekick Murgatroid; and Terry Cooper as the harassed narrator.

In this particular episode, the President looked forward to a visit from British Prime Minister Crumpton (Terry Cooper again) and his sidekick Pennyposy (Denny Brownlee).  Mike Murphy's script contained some neat jokes about the idea of two countries being divided by the same language - for many Brits, American English can seem incomprehensible, just as British English seems difficult for many Americans.  However once the two leaders met, they discovered a common interest - both of them had  teddy-bears as bosom companions.

The episode contained some more dreadful puns - this time revolving around Cooper, as well as H. Keith Lyons (a stalwart of Misfits Audio productions, even though he was not cast in this particular piece).  The Administration is still worth a listen, if only to admire the ways in which scriptwriter Murphy can milk laughs out of even the most unpromising situations.
