BBC Radio 4, 29 October 2012

It's 1979, and Welsh Nationalist MP Gywnfor Evans (Robert Blythe) is battling for the right to initiate a Welsh television channel against the government of Margaret Thatcher.  The struggle is a difficult one, involving a battle against a complacent Home Secretary William Whitelaw (Malcolm Tierney), as well as against a Conservative government that cares little for Welsh affairs.

Rob Gittins' play emerged as a conflict of wills, between a strong Welsh Nationalist MP and an equally strong willed Conservative government.  The struggle proves a difficult one, involving different points of view.  It is not for me to say what the outcome was, but everyone was satisfied, for whatever reason.

James Robinson's production was a study in character-development, of the triumph of individualism over bureaucratic indifference.  A very entertaining Afternoon Play.
