A Beary Twisted Tale by Glenn A. Hascall

Another in the series of fabular spoofs from Misfits Audio. This ingenious rewriting of Goldilocks and the Three Bears had Goldie (Katie Dehnart) as a spoilt teenager looking to watch her favourite soap opera, visiting the ursuline househole, and arguing with the Narrator (Delvin Kinser) about what she was supposed to say to make the story unfold 'properly.' Meanwhile the bears seem more interested in visiting the local pancake house for breakfast, rather than worrying about who has eaten their gruel. Add to that the desire for celebrity, whether on television or other media, and a Teen Bear (Glenn Hascall) who seems more interested in himself than his parents, and you have the recipe for a rollicking comedy.

It's nice to hear familiar fables being deconstructed; by doing so author/ producer Hascall exposes the absurdities of the original tales, while displaying a basic affection for their power to influence various cultures.
