Another science fiction drama with a distinct whiff of spoof, this time
involving the adventures of Captain Dyllan Pike (Mat Weller) and his crew's voyage through space and time. As with all such
adventures, he has difficulty trying to keep control of his crew, especially when they are hampered by any and every
obstacle one can think of.
To be honest, I think this drama is a little too jokey for its own good; there are
lots of quips in the script that simply passed me by. Maybe I'm being too pedantic here, but I think that
a science fiction drama has to have at least some roots in speculative truth to be a success with listeners.
Nonetheless, I did have the pleasure of encountering many familiar voices from
the audio drama world, including Gwendolyn Jensen Woodard, Joe Stofko, and Jack Ward, all of whom make any dramas worth
listening to.
