Misfits Audio, 2012

Another in the series of ingenious rewritings of familiar children's tales, performed by the ever-innovative Misfits Audıo troupe.

This tale reimagines Little Red Riding Hood as a 40s detective tale, complete with atmospheric music, a dumb detective Mack Adams (Tom Chalker) with an even dumber sidekick (Glenn Hascall), a scheming heroine - definitely not the innocent little girl of the folktaler (Katie Dehnart), who also plays the role of the Granny; and the Wolf reimagined as gangster Johnny Wolfowitz (Glenn Hascall once again).

I won't go into the specifics of the tale; suffice to say that the plot twists and turns, absurdity piling upon absurdity.  There's everything in this fifteen-minute spoof: disguise, deception, delusion and (invariably flse) deduction.  The action proceeds at a great lick, and is highly entertaining.  I do hope the series continues; I'm looking forward to hearing more.
