Sometimes it's fun - as well as instructive - to depart from the mainstream
of radio drama and explore the weird, wide and wonderful variety of material available on podcast.
To retell Austen's classic in such a short space of time is no mean feat, and one
which it's worth taking the time to download. Suffice to say that the programme-makers view the novel as "a classic
tale of secret love and passion," with the emphasis placed on Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy's innermost thoughts.
They might speak politely to one another; but their thoughts are far from innocent.
Whille some listeners might take offence at this interpretation, I found it
great fun. We've had Jane Austen's Fight Club; why shouldn't we have Lady Chatterley's Austen as well?
